Distance Learning

MEDLI will accept Distance Learning applications for the 2023 program.

There may be limited opportunity for distance learning for those with extenuating circumstances that prevent in-person attendance at MEDLI. Students must be available for all hours of classroom instruction (8:30am-1pm Central Time) Monday through Friday for the duration of the summer program and will need to meet all computer system and equipment requirements.

Before applying, please read the Guidelines for Distance Learning

The MEDLI general application form cannot be saved and returned to at a later time. In addition to the general application form, you will be required to submit to MEDLI the following:

1. A statement of purpose, one page maximum, that addresses the medical, personal, family, professional, or other reasons why you are unable to travel to Madison for classes this summer and how you will ensure that you will be available at the given class times (8:30am-1pm Central Time, Monday-Friday) and be able to make time for sufficient homework/review (4-5 hours daily).

2. A copy of your MEDLI general application statement of purpose. We require this statement for both applications because the review processes are different.

Please note all MEDLI courses are subject to cancellation dependent on student interest. Similarly, distance learning applications will be reviewed and decided on based on course availability. We encourage those interested in the distance learning option to reach out to the MEDLI office early in the application cycle as limited opportunities for distance learning are available.
